14/12/16 A Thyssen never seen
CaixaForum in collaboration with the Thyssen Bornemisza Museum, has prepared a very complete exhibition of the best pieces of the Thyssen Museum Madrid where some art pieces that have never left Madrid will be exhibited for the first time. This exhibition will be available until February 5 at the CaixaForum Social and Cultural Center in Barcelona.
A unique exposure
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the creation of Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in Madrid, “La Caixa” and Thyssen foundations have collaborated to gather 63 of the best art pieces of the Thyssen Museum and present them in a very special exhibition for CaixaForum Barcelona. What makes this exhibition special is that some of these pieces have never been seen before outside ofut of Madrid, also this time the artwork will not be presented in the chronological order they normally have in Madrid.
It is true that the Thyssen-Bornemisza collection has had a strong presence in Catalonia, specifically in the Monastery of Pedralbes since 1992 and in the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya, where pieces of Gothic art, Renaissance and Baroque art Masterpieces by Fra Angelico, Bellini, Brueghel, Rubens, Rembrandt, Picasso, Canaletto, Cézanne, Pissarro, Chagall and Hopper can be seen.
The exhibition opened its doors to the public on November 4 and will continue to be available from Monday to Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. until February 5, 2017 at the CaixaForum Social and Cultural Center of Barcelona located in The Av. Francesc Ferrer i Guàrdia 6-8. From our design hotel in Barcelona we propose this exhibition as part of a touristic and cultural tour that you can complement visiting the Magic Fountain of Montjuïc or the National Museum of Art of Catalonia both located are very close to where the exhibition is held.
