This year’s program promises to be more international than ever, creating a Mercè from the five continents that not only looks at the artists of Barcelona, but connects with all the world. A festival full of humor, music and popular and traditional culture with the association Adi Folk and artists from India, Croatia and Colombia.

Andreu Buenafuente will be the harbinger of the holidays this year, a speech to be announced on September 18th and that, in the words of television presenter and producer: “Attempts to make people laugh and reflect on the city model we want.”

There will also be space for the traditional firework, the 65th Sardana show, the show of creative and contemporary Sardana of the Palauet Albéniz and many samples of street art performances and small shows of new technologies. As well as for the Mediterraneament concert, which will be the main one starring “Els Friends of the Arts”, “Els Catarres” and “Les Oques Grasses”.

The MAC Art Festival will fill the city with guests from Kenya, Montreal, Paris and future stars of the circus that will also be in Barcelona for the Mercè, and we could also feel the presence of the great Argentina with hundreds of artists and traditions from Buenos Aires, as its theater.

The Festival of La Mercè will be held between Friday September 18th and Thursday night September 24th, when the usual Piromusical will take place. Thus, the most multitudinous activities will be focused on the weekend for everyone to enjoy.
