25/3/13 Primavera sound, the most awaited festival of the spring

Primavera Sound is an international music festival organizing concerts for over a decade. The festival comes to Barcelona once again from May 20-26 to delight us with the best music in the international scene.

From the beginning, Primavera was characterized mainly as an event for pop and rock music. Famous artist including The Pixies, The Cure, The White Stripes, Franz Ferdinand, New Order, LCD Soundsystem, Parov Stelar, and many others have passed through Barcelona. Besides having a lineup for pop and rock artists, the festival also welcomes and has a tendency to incorporate underground bands from various music trends of the moment.

The 2013 festival is packed with diverse musical genres: from rock, pop, punk, electronic, and even hip hop artist such as the legendary rap group Wu-Tang Clan with over twenty years in the music business. Furthermore, it should be highlighted that national artist such as Los Planetas or Manel will be present amongst others.

However, the most anticipated band this year at Primavera Sound is undoubtedly Blur, a pop group formed in Colchester, UK in 1989 by vocalist, keyboardist, and guitarist Damon Albarn, guitarist Graham Coxon, bassist Alex James, and drummer Dave Rowntree. After their first appearance in London in the late 80s and twenty years after their first album, Leisure, en 1991, Blur attends the festival with a long musical repertoire.

During an entire week, the Primavera Sound concerts will be held both in clubs in the Catalan capital as well as Parc del Forum, an enclosure used to house large events. The festival opens its endless lineup, more than 100 artists in a week, on Monday May 20 in Apolo in Barcelona and will close in the same location on Sunday May 26. Also, the Parc del Forum will have various places to accommodate more than 100,000 visitors coming from all corners of the world to enjoy a five-star festival.
