9/9/13 The best guitar collection at Museo de la Música

The Museo de la Música will host the best guitar collection in the World. From July, music and guitar lovers can see the 50 (out of 90) most important guitars in the world.

The Museo de la Música, located in the Auditori and just 20 minutes away from our Barcelona luxury hotel, the Hotel Omm, opened its exposition to the public on July with a guided tour and a concert where those guitars were played.

The collection is composed by 90 guitars but only 50 are exposed. The “guitar de los Leones” from XVIII century or the guitars made by Antonio de Torres (considered the Stradivarius master for being the “father of classic modern guitar”) are the most popular in the exposition.

The ticket included a guided tour through the collection with a20 minutes concert in the end played by Jacob Lenson and Belisana Ruiz, old guitar specialized players. The visit is about one hour and you can see the guitar history, its influence and its beginning.

If you are a guitar or music lover you can’t miss the chance to come around. From Hotel Omm, our Barcelona centre hotel, we encourage you to take the subway (line 1) in Plaza Cataluña and go to the Auditori to enjoy a fabulous and unique concert.
