The eye of Antoni Arissa

Categories

Antoni Arissa is not with us since 1980, but his work is still relevant nowadays; a work that started in the pictorialism but that later on would flip towards the new objectivity and the constructivism. Part of his work was lost after his death, because the family didn’t realize its artistic and historic value.

The sample that is exposed now at the Contemporary Culture Center of Barcelona is formed by 160 pictures in black and white that gather the first decade of the 20th century and the civil war. It’s divided in three stylistic blocks: the pictorialism, from 1922 to 1928; the journey through the visual solutions of the modernity, and the New Vision, from 1930 to 1936.

Hotel Omm encourages you to visit this exposition that will make you tour one of the most emblematic times of Spanish History by the hand of an artist who knew how to translate the cultural and artistic movements of the moment. The exposition will be available until May 24th; you shouldn’t miss it.
