A grand 4 Hand-dinner with Joan Roca and Rafa Panatieri!
Last Thursday’s, March 8, dinner in Roca Moo was not just any other dinner. If coming to our gastronomic restaurant is always an experience out of the ordinary, open to surprising flavors and singular recipes, this was the case twice over. Literally, twice as much: we had two great chefs, Joan Roca and Rafa Panatieri, serving a special menu with creations from two great restaurants, El Celler de Can Roca and our own in Hotel Omm, as part of the four-hand dinners organized for Passeig de Gourmets gastronomic festival. In short? A grand 4 hand gastronomic experience took place just right here!
Around 8pm, with Lexter’s background live music playing in Roca Bar, the first diners started to arrive. A mix of enthusiasm and expectation could be felt in the environment. The dining room awaited beautifully patient, with the evening’s light peeking into the scene through the skylights, all the tables reserved and prepared for the occasion. The Roca Moo team stood there, keeping their eyes on every detail and every guest, ready to give their best in such an exceptional service. And at the entrance of the restaurant, Joan Roca.
The eldest of the Roca Brothers and chef of El Celler welcomed all guests one by one, greeting them with a wide and warm smile. Just recently arrived from Hollywood and with 15 years of history working as the gastronomic advisor of our hotel, the anecdotes to talk about were quite a few. Furthermore, he brought with him some of the most original and interesting proposals from his three-Michelin starred restaurant in Girona, which has been twice recognized as the best in the world according to the prestigious Restaurant magazine. We couldn’t wait to try them all!
Sure enough, the menu designed especially for the evening did not leave anyone indifferent, not even the most loyal Roca Moo diners. In total, ten dishes were served, including two desserts, preceded by a welcome drink Gramona III Lustros and combining classics from El Celler de Can Roca with our own Roca Moo original creations. Rodrigo, Andrés and Roberto, our team of sommeliers, served amazing wines following the guidelines of the pairing prepared by Nerea Sorribes, our ultimate and head sommelier. While in the kitchen a frenetic activity was going on, as if a dramatic script was being followed, with our sous-chef Jorge Sastre and Rafa Panatieri, together with Joan Roca, directing the orchestra.
At the end of the dinner, Joan and Rafa came to each table to talk with every diner. How was it? Glad you enjoyed it. So wonderful! We hope to see you again soon. When will the next 4 hand dinner be? Can’t wait, we’re already looking forward to repeating the experience!
