Barcelona Design Tour 2018

Hotel Omm

This year’s Barcelona Design Tour (BDT) map is now available! Edited by Barcelona Center de Disseny, it offers a different and alternative route from the perspective of art, creativity and contemporary culture. In total, it contains more than 280 chosen points that are essential for those who feel especially attracted to the vanguard of our city… And yes, it includes the Omm Hotel!

Specifically, the Barcelona Design Tour seeks to immerse us in Barcelona’s contemporary design and architectonic culture offering a selection of the main sites in the city that meet this objective: from commercial retails to bars and restaurants (such as the Mordisco and the Tragaluz), hotels, galleries, showrooms, fashion stores and other spaces that help to explain why Barcelona is one of the world capitals of design.

Hotel Omm: a design icon  in Barcelona

The Barcelona Design Tour describes our design hotel in Barcelona focusing especially on our architecture and interior design. The Omm “opened its doors in 2003 under the umbrella of Grupo Tragaluz”, he relates, “with the desire to open an establishment that would make comfort and warmth prevail, the architectural project was given to Juli Capella”.

Regarding the interior design of the hotel, signed by Sandra Tarruella and Isabel López, the map explains that “it manages to create harmonious and comfortable atmospheres where you can find classics of design, such as the Egg chair by Arne Jacobsen”, along with several art exhibitions (Mariscal’s paintings in the elevators included!).

If you want to read more about the importance of design in Hotel Omm, check the BDT’s Barcelona and take the opportunity to discover all those places and characters that, since the early 90’s, have placed our city on the international design map.
