Björk Guðmundsdóttir, better known as Björk, is the Icelandic singer, songwriter, producer and artist who, from June 14 to September 24, will present her work of virtual reality at the Center for Contemporary Culture in Barcelona, one of the most visited exhibition centers, located in the charismatic Raval district.

Barcelona hosts the exhibition ‘Björk digital’

This summer Barcelona receives this exhibition that shows the resulted romance of Björk with art and technology. This is a co-production by the CCCB and Sold out, with the collaboration of Sónar, which you can enjoy throughout the summer.

We could define this exhibition as an immersive experience to understand and live closely the creative universe of the artist, based on virtual reality.

Throughout the 90 minutes of this visual experience, you can enjoy video clips like: “Blake Lake”, filmed in the Highlands of Iceland by director Andrew Thomas Huang; “Mouthmantra VR”, a work of the artist Jesse Kanda constructed from a reconstruction of the footage filmed in the mouth of Björk while she sings the song that bears the same name of the work.

During the course of this exhibition, you will enjoy performances, cinema, various installations, video and interaction, as well as several audiovisual pieces of virtual reality produced with the latest technologies.

In order to shape Björk digital, the artist has had the collaboration of popular artists of pour time such as Michel Gondry, Spike Jonze, Alexander McQueen, Nick Knight, Stéphan Sednaoui, or the most recent ones: Jesse Kanda, Andrew Thomas Huang, Warren du Prees and Nick Thornton Jones.

From Hotel Omm we encourage you not to miss this opportunity and enjoy the creative universe of the singer. Visiting this exhibition can be an exceptional plan since a few meters from the CCCB, located on Calle del Pintor Fortuny number 3, is the Lobo Bar. Because, what better way to culminate an afternoon of culture in Barcelona than to taste authentic Mediterranean cuisine?

If you are planning to visit Barcelona and this exhibition during the summer, we invite you to reserve your room in our modern hotel in Barcelona with parking in the city center.
