Feel Christmas time at Fira de Santa Llúcia 2014

Santa Llúcia is the oldest fair dedicated to mangers and Christmas decorations. It takes place from 1786 and, this year, it has renewed its image, unifying stands and giving the aesthetics of a mountain village.

In 2014, visitors will find 287 stands, six more than last year. Most of them are dedicated to nativity figures, but there are others which sell trees and moss, and others which sell handicraft.

In addition, around Fira de Santa Llúcia there are many activities. For example, December 12 will be the 21st edition of the Diada de las Tradiciones y las costumbres navideñas en Catalunya (Day of Christmas traditions and customs in Catalonia). Also, in front of the Cathedral, there are giants Caga Tío and an advent calendar.

To put the finishing touch to the visit and the shopping at Fira de Santa Llúcia, enjoy an excelent lunch or dinner at Cuines de Santa Caterina restaurant. You just have to cross Via Laietana for tasting their unrivalled dishes or tapas. What are you waiting for? Don’t miss the oldest Christmas fair!
