Gràcia Festival: not to be missed
Gràcia is a top area of Barcelona, famous for its relaxed and bohemian atmosphere with many squares and cafes where you can grab a beer, and whose festival has been widely acclaimed for years. This festival is organized by the own residents of the neighborhood, who decorate the streets of the neighborhood and compete against each other for the best decorated street.
The competition is taken seriously and the bar is set very high; every street chooses a theme and represents it, so walking the streets of Gràcia during this festival can become a wonderful journey through the imagination and creativity of the neighbors. Also during the week there will be several concerts, shows and food stands to enjoy every moment.
Do not miss the speech by the tv host Andreu Buenafuente on August 14th at 19:00 and the main parade will take place on Friday 15th at 18:00 and will begin on Carrer Gran de Gràcia with St. Agatha. You can also enjoy during Sunday 17th the famous Castellers, a spectacular and deeply rooted tradition in Catalonia with centuries of history.
And of course they could not miss the Correfoc, a tradition in which the public is pursued by groups of “devils” with fireworks and firecrackers. A fun activity that requires a dress code for safety.
