49th Voll-Damm International Jazz Festival


A festival that has become a worldwide reference for the world of Jazz, where the heavyweights of this genre reunited with the new talents presenting their freshest proposals. This 49th edition of the Voll-Damm International Jazz Festival comes to Barcelona in October to delight all audiences for three months!

Barcelona, a city of jazz

Once again, Barcelona becomes a city full of music where great jazz representatives meet to fill the different spaces of the city with their magnificent improvisations and melodies.

The agenda of the 49th Voll-Damm International Jazz Festival of Barcelona comes full of concerts that will not only make the audience enjoy the music itself, but every space and stage of the city. A city that will be able to dance to the rhythm of jazz throughout the next fall.

A deluxe musical agenda

One of the protagonists of this edition in the saxophonist Kamasi Washington who was the first artist to sold out the tickets for the inaugural concert of the festival last July 14 in the concert hall BARTS.

Within this same line of expected artists, the festival could not miss the great lady of contemporary jazz, Diana Krall. With her powerful voice, the Canadian singer and pianist arrives in Barcelona to present her latest work titled Turn up the Quiet. Diana will be in the Auditori del Fòrum on the night of October 17th.

The Conservatori del Liceu will also host several artists such as Logan Richardson, Ambrose Akinmusire, Aaron Goldberg Trio, Antonio Lizana and Human Feel.

Other locations of the festival will be Luz de Gas, where the singer Kenny Washington will perform with the pianist from Barcelona Ignasi Terraza; The Palau de la Música Catalana, which will have the pleasure of receiving the American soprano Barbara Hendricks, Diego el Cigala and The Chick Corea – Steve Gadd Band.

A party for everybody

In addition to these magical concerts, the festival organizes the event called Jazz & Food, which will take place on September 30 at Moll de la Fusta. A party for everyone with 12 hours of music. There is also a great selection of gastronomy organized by the independent magazine BCN Més with Asian and several Latin American countries like Argentina, Mexico, Peru and Venezuela for the gastronomy display of this party.
