Lady Gaga’s Joanne World Tour arrives to Barcelona
Lady Gaga will soon arrive in Europe as part of her international tour, Joanne World Tour, with two expected concerts in Barcelona on 21 and 22 September. The chosen place is the stage of the Palau de Sant Jordi, built with the occasion of the Olympics of 92 and considered by many as the jewel of the so-called “Olympic Ring of Montjuïc”.
An expected return to the Palau Sant Jordi
Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, known worldwide by her stage name Lady Gaga, returns for the fifth time to Spain and does so with an exclusive visit to our city. Her only two performances in our country will be precisely in Barcelona, in which she will rescue old hits and melodies of the present, emotions and adrenaline, faithful to her personal and inimitable style. There is no fan in Spain who wants to miss these concerts.
In fact, there was only one concert scheduled for September 22, but the tickets sold out so quickly that forced the producers to offer a new date to cover the high demand for tickets. It had only been two hours since the tickets where available and there was not even one left at the box office. The date chosen for a second concert? The day before, on September 21.
Joanne, her musical maturity
The anticipation for this world tour, her fifth tour, for her fifth album, explained in part by the evolution symbolizing Joanne. This new work considered by critics as the most mature of their albums so far and marked by a deep personal meaning.
Gaga explained to fans in the inaugural concert of the tour at Vancouver (Canadá) that the name of her new album was a tribute to her paternal aunt, Joanne, who died in 1974. This was a loss so close and premature that marked the childhood of her father and defined the second real name of Lady Gaga.
An unforgettable occasion
Lady Gaga’s visit to our city promises to be memorable. With rhythms of yesterday and today, the artist will perform the new singles Perfect Illusion, Joanne and Million Reasons along with her all-time hits Poker Face, Bad Romance, Paparazzi, Born this way, Just Dance and Alejandro, among others. Ready to dance?
Getting to the concert at the Palau Sant Jordi from our hotel with spa in Barcelona by public transport is easy (and fast!). You can take metro line 3 at Diagonal station, just outside the hotel, and arrive in a few minutes to Plaza Espanya, from where special buses will be available to reach the event.
For those who wants to recharge batteries before or after the concert. Going up to Numancia Street straight from Plaza Espanya is Avenida Diagonal, where you will find two of the restaurants of Grupo Tragaluz in the same space: the No Tan Negro restaurant, with tapas and Mediterranean food on the top floor and Rojo on the bottom floor, ideal for sushi lovers. Sing a perfect evening!
