Palau Güell: glances to its furniture

Palau Güell is an urban palace that Eusebi Güell requested to Antoni Gaudí as family home, and which was the house of the family until they moved to Parc Güell. It’s an example of domestic architecture in the modernist context, with an innovative conception of space and light.

At the children rooms you will be able to see the original furnitures, as well as other modernist pieces. These are the two fields of the exhibition: “Güell decoration” and “Modernism decoration”. On the other hand, there are two iconic furnitures that the Güell family has gave in for a limited time, designed by Gaudí: a chaise longue and one of the original chairs of the series “de los gatos y los ratones” (of cats and mice).

Palau Güell has been declared Unesco World Heritage and is key to understand the architecture by Gaudí. If you love Catalan Modernism and the work of Gaudí, don’t hesitate to visit this building and its interesting furniture exhibition.
