The festival takes place at Peralada, a small town 150km from Barcelona. The Peralada Castle, where the festival is held, dates from the late Middle Ages and today the complex houses the Casino of Peralada, the Glass Museum, the Wine Museum, the great library, cellars and the church and the cloister of Carmen.

This year will be enjoyed voices like the tenor Juan Diego Florez, the countertenor Max Emanuel Cencic, soprano Diana Damrau and Klaus Florian Vogt, who first visit the festival. Furthermore “El Amor Brujo” opens in Catalonia and Verdi’s grand opera “Otello” comes back. The most contemporary music will be provided by Joan Manuel Serrat, Luz Casal, Tom Jones and Gregory Porter who will fill the night of jazz and soul, among many other performances.

This year, the opening of the festival will be given by one of the legendary companies of Peralada: the Béjart Ballet Lausanne, which returns with a mixed program for two days, with classics of Béjart as Bolero or the Seven Greek Dances combined with new works by Gil Roman such as Kyôdaï.

Peralada Festival, which since 1992 is part of the selective European Festival Association, promises this year to make the nights of July and August an unforgettable experience full of art, culture and above all, great music. This year also special transport is provided to reach Peralada from Barcelona, so nobody miss its superb program. Omm luxury hotel in Barcelona recommends the International Music Festival “Castell de Peralada” if you are thinking of spending a few days in Barcelona this summer.
