“Platillos” tours in Roca Bar and Mordisco
We’re looking forward to March 8 and we have two very good reasons to get excited about it. The first one is the four-handed dinner with Joan Roca and Rafa Panatieri in Roca Moo as part of the gastronomic festival Passeig de Gourmets. The second one is that that Thursday is also the first day of the festival’s “Platillos” route in which we’ll participate with our informal restaurant Roca Bar, together with Mordisco. From the 8 to the 18th of March, try one of our favourite small dishes for 7€, drink included!
At the Roca Bar you’ll be able to try our exceptional crispy squid sandwich. This dish is a classic of our fresh and fun menu, which is based on tapas and platillos (small dishes) ready to share any time of the day. But no, it has nothing to do with Madrid’s typical squid sandwich. This one is the result of our collaboration with the Roca Brothers, our gastronomic advisers. Therefore, no, you won’t be able to find another (crispy) squid sandwich like this one anywhere else. And yes, it’s definitely worth a visit!
You can come whenever you want. Roca Bar is always open from 1pm to 1am, an ideal option for having lunch, a snack between meals or dinner with friends and live background music. Any time is perfect and a platillo like this one is always a good idea.
Furthermore, continuing with the Platillos route, five minutes walking distance from the hotel you’ll find Mordisco with its famous (and cheesy!) Buthan potatoes. This Grupo Tragaluz restaurant (the first of them all, by the way) is located on the Paseo de la Concepcion, in a typical house from L’Eixample district. You’ll easily recognize it by its emblematic green façade and, once inside, you’ll be seduced by its space. Here you’ll feel like if you were in a covered garden, so fresh and full of light.
One last detail: to participate in this Platillos route you don’t need to book a table previously. From the 8 to the 18th of March, visit Roca Bar and Mordisco at any time and ask for your platillo!
And another preview: March 8 will also be a special date in Tragaluz restaurant related to the Passeig de Gourmets festival… on Monday we’ll tell you all about it here, on the blog of our 5 star hotel in Paseo de Gracia!
