Live music in the V edition of the Bachcelona festival

The Bachcelona festival dedicated to the work of musician Johann Sebastian Bach opens its fifth edition on July 19, with numerous activities and events linked to music and held in different places of the city until July 25.

The Bach experience, much more than a concert

One of the main attractions of Barcelona during this summer time is the great number of cultural events that you can visit in the different neighborhoods of the city. One of these events is the Bachcelona festival, which has already five successful editions and still keeps surprising every year with its particular way of paying tribute to the work of the genius Johann Sebastian Bach.

In this new edition of the festival, its organizers emphasize that they will offer more than concerts. To achieve this purpose, the festival counts with the collaboration of several guests, great music professionals who will be offering to the public their original proposals in different spaces of the city dedicated to culture.

A tour of music, culture and charm

During the festival days, you have an excellent opportunity to take a cultural walk. Leaving our charming hotel in Barcelona, with a privileged location on the Paseo de Gracia, you can easily access any of the establishments that are part of the festival. The opening concert will be on July 19 in the Sala Petit of the Palau de la Música, one of the most beautiful places in the neighborhood La Ribera, better known as El Borne.

Dutch conductor Ton Koopman, one of the best-known figures in Bach’s music performance, will be giving a master class in the Ateneu Barcelonés, located on Calle Canuda 6 of the mythical Gothic Quarter on July 22.

With a night show and a daring proposal, the Cuban pianist Roberto Fonseca will perform in the Club Jamboree of the Gothic Quarter, on July 23. He will offer in trio format a repertoire of his most recent compositions inspired by the music of the German composer.
